Most dogs require some maintenance between regular grooming appointments. For some breeds it’s just a case of a quick bath to freshen up, for others it’s a thorough brushing out of the coat.

For certain dog breed owners, this maintenance can become a real headache, at worst a chore. Particularly if you own a Bichon, Poodle, Shih Tzu, Schnauzer, Westie or one of the many other breeds that need strict DAILY maintenance of their coat to prevent serious knotting, matting and associated problems!

The Groomer’s job is to put the dog’s coat back into glorious knot free, clean condition and indeed it is my pleasure to do so! But not if it means putting your dog through several hours torment having knot after knot teased, raked and de-matted from its body.

This can cause your dog to dread his/her grooming visit, stresses them unnecessarily and makes what should be an enjoyable treat ... a total trauma!

All too often the kindest and less stressful option for a dog with a badly knotted coat, is for the Groomer to shave it off and start again from scratch.

None of us want this for our dog if it can be avoided!

Owners in general are unlikely to have the benefit of experience a professional groomer has with the vast amount of breed coat types. And this is where inadvertently owners can actually cause the problems with knotting and matting (or felting) of the dog’s fur, which could have been avoided if only they had known ‘HOW’ to correctly care for their dog’s coat between grooming sessions.

Well now you have the chance to easily learn the correct way to do it!

I am Auntie Maria, and that’s who I always want to be to all the doggies that pass through my grooming room each year. Someone who is part of their extended family and who they enjoy coming to visit. It would be great to help not only my own regular clients’ but any owner of a HIGH MAINTENANCE breed dog, to learn how to care for their dogs coat so that when he/she visits Auntie Maria or their own groomer ... there’s no stress or tantrums!

Welcome to
Allbreeds Owner’s Grooming Maintenance Workshops

The idea of these Workshops is to teach Owner’s how to easily and quickly ‘service’ their dog’s coat on a daily basis. The methods taught will greatly reduce the problem of matting and knotting and help to avoid the possibility of your dog needing to be regularly shaved off.

The benefits to the owner, is that in learning how to perform this ‘daily’ routine with their dog:-

  • They will be increasing the ‘bond’ between them which in turn helps enormously with obedience issues.
  • It ensures that you have a reasonably clean and dust free pet around the home most of the time.
  • It will highlight health issues faster; you will locate problems/ticks/fleas/ailments sooner by handling your dog daily, rather than stumbling on the problem and perhaps encountering bigger vet’s bills as a result!
  • It also trains the dog to accept ‘grooming’ calmly without all the ‘fuss and nonsense’ that some animals demonstrate such as hysteria, snapping, yelping and struggling.

And you may even enjoy cheaper grooming bills as most groomer’s charge extra for a badly knotted coat – it’s a lot of extra work!

“He won’t let me do it” is something I hear frequently – well let me teach you how to – easily and quickly ... just 10 to 15 minutes a day!

Each Workshop lasts between 2-3 hours depending on your breed of dog and you will be taught how to:-

  • Bath and dry your dog in the most stress free manner
  • Correctly brush out the coat
  • Check for possible problems with ears and nails
  • How to ‘ultimately’ handle your dog whilst performing the daily routine ... no more wrestling matches, snappy growls and general hysterics!!

It’s a unique experience for any dog owner, one they will really appreciate for years to come, I promise!
